I’m Anna Zakusylo, born in Korosten, Ukraine. My life’s journey has been a series of resets. After losing my home due to the Chornobyl disaster, my family moved south to Skadovsk. Unfortunately, we had to relocate again due to the recent occupation. Growing up during Ukraine’s independence, I was influenced by Moscow’s propaganda but later made a complete reset, embracing my Ukrainian roots, language, and culture.
With degrees in cultural event organization, psychology, and theatre directing from Kherson State University, I’ve worked in various fields—organizing kids’ activities, being a psychologist for autistic children, directing TV shows, and even being manager of the Ukrainian Association of Furniture Manufacturers.
Moving to Madeira, I dedicated myself to volunteering and community work. I helped integrate refugees into European society, ensuring equal opportunities for all. Additionally, I volunteered rescuing birds and spoke at rallies supporting Ukraine. I believe our world needs a reset to create a sustainable future in harmony with nature. Through my TEDx talk, I hope to inspire others to find their inner strength and make positive changes.
